地理科

Geography is one of the subjects in the Key Learning Area of Personal, Social and Humanities Education. We tailor our school-based curriculum to the Curriculum Guide prepared by the Curriculum Development Council, Education Bureau, HKSAR. We provide Geography courses for students from Form One to Form Six in this school.

地理為個人、社會及人文教育學習領域內的一個學科。 我們根據香港教育局課程發展議會編訂的課程指引，編輯具體校本課程內容，為本校中一至中六各級同學提供適切的地理課程。

 

Aims 宗旨

Our Geography curriculum puts a strong emphasis on spatial understanding, concept elaboration, and geographical analysis. As our school actively embraces the Medium of Instruction (MOI) fine-tuning policy, we are committed to providing high-quality English learning resources to help students overcome language barriers and excel in the HKDSE Examination. Through the enquiry of major societal and global issues, we guide students to understand the complex interactions between human activities and the natural environment. This cultivates their independent thinking and critical judgment, enabling them to apply appropriate geographical concepts to objectively and rationally evaluate complicated social issues.

In the enquiry process, students are equipped with essential geographical and generic skills needed for lifelong learning. These include conducting field studies, data collection, map reading, utilizing Geoinformatics (GIS), graph design, calculation of indices, and writing reports. Students are thoroughly trained to locate, extract, and present appropriate information from primary and secondary sources effectively.

We organize field studies across many forms, allowing students to personally learn, understand, protect, and appreciate the wonder and fragility of the natural environment. Ultimately, we aim to nurture our Geography students into educated, responsible citizens with a global outlook, who are ready to take action and strive for the sustainable development of our society, our nation, and the entire world.

我們的地理課程強調空間認知、概念闡述與地理分析。隨著本校積極配合教學語言（MOI）微調政策，我們致力提供高質素的英語學習資源，協助學生克服語言障礙，並在香港中學文憑考試（HKDSE）中取得優異成績。透過探究社會與全球的重大議題，我們引導學生了解人類活動與自然環境之間複雜的互動關係。這能培養學生的獨立思考與批判能力，使他們能有效運用適當的地理概念，對複雜的社會議題作出客觀及理性的評估。

在探究過程中，我們裝備學生掌握終身學習所需的基本地理技能及共通能力。當中包括進行野外考察、收集數據、地圖閱讀、運用地理資訊系統（GIS）、設計圖表、計算指標及撰寫報告。學生亦會接受嚴謹訓練，從一手及二手資料來源中，有效地尋找、提取並表達合適的資訊與數據。

我們在各級組織考察活動，讓學生能親身接觸、了解、愛護，以至欣賞大自然環境的奧妙與脆弱。最終，我們的目標是將地理科學生培育成為具見識、具備全球視野且負責任的公民，願意採取行動，為社會、國家以至全球的可持續發展作出貢獻。

Objectives in this year 年度目標

Our school continues to actively align with the Medium of Instruction (MOI) fine-tuning policy for secondary schools. To cater to diverse student needs, our Geography curriculum is now offered in both Chinese and English. Our teachers are dedicated to preparing high-quality learning resources for both streams, ensuring that students can effectively grasp complex geographical concepts and maintain high learning efficiency regardless of their chosen MOI.

In the senior forms, students taking the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination in English must overcome language barriers amidst keen competition, while students in the Chinese stream must master precise geographical terminology. Our teachers maintain a strong professional stance to support and guide all students through these respective challenges. By strategically mobilizing our panel's resources, we aim to maximize learning efficiency and ensure stable, excellent performance in public examinations across both language tracks.

本校繼續積極配合政府的中學教學語言（MOI）微調政策。為照顧學生不同的學習需要，本校的地理科現時同時以中文及英文授課。我們的老師正努力編訂高質素的雙語教材，確保無論學生選擇哪一種教學語言，都能有效掌握複雜的地理概念，並保持良好的學習成效。

在高中階段，選擇以英語應考香港中學文憑考試（HKDSE）的同學，需要在激烈的公開試競爭中克服語言障礙；而中文組的同學亦需精準掌握地理學術詞彙。我們的老師秉持高度的專業精神，全力支援及協助所有學生面對各自的挑戰。透過有效調配科組資源，我們致力提升整體的教學效率，確保不同語言組別的學生在公開考試中均能維持穩定且優異的成績。
